Bonds polyolefins without surface treatment

Produces structural bonds on polyolefins

Delivers non-sag formulation less slump and spread of beads

Slightly flexible for good durability

Excellent environmental resistance

10 minute work life

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive 8010NS bonds many polyolefins and low surface energy plastics, including many grades of polypropylene, polyethylene, TPO, PET, etc., without special surface preparation. Application is easy; once the two components are applied according to manufacture instructions, 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive 8010NS has a 10 minute work life and handling strength after about an hour. A full cure is typically achieved in 8-24 hours. Once the bond is formed, our 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive 8010NS offers a non-sag formulation to create rigid adhesion. It offers very good shear strength of 2,700 pound-force per square inch.

Recommended Applications

  • LSE plastics
  • Polypropylene
  • Polyethylene
  • Thermoplastic polyolefins (TPOs)

Easy Adhesion with Acrylic
Acrylic adhesives are two-part adhesives that provide excellent bond strength and durability. Although slightly weaker than epoxy adhesives in some situations, they have several features that make them easier to use, including a much faster cure speed, higher tolerance for oily or unprepared bonding surfaces and the ability to bond a wide variety of materials, including nearly all plastics. Newer acrylic adhesive formulations are room temperature stable with a long shelf life.

Advanced Adhesive Systems
Designers and engineers increasingly rely on adhesives for improved end-use performance, greater design flexibility and more efficiency in putting their products together. Backed by more than 50 years of experience in industrial adhesives, 3M continues to meet those needs. Two-part room-temperature-curing epoxy, urethane and acrylic adhesives formulated and packaged in Duo-Pak cartridges meet a wide variety of construction, MRO and industrial applications. In addition to advanced formulations for reliability and versatility, 3M provides application systems like the EPX Pneumatic Applicator to facilitate production service to help customers in their selection of the right adhesive for the job.
